Definition - The -ing form of a verb when it is used as either an adjective or a verb.
Notes:
1. When the -ing form of the verb is used as a noun, it is called a gerund.

Example -

(1) I'm working hard. (present participle as verb)
(2) I'm a working man. (present participle as adjective)
