Definition: Extremely coarse and abusive language.
Note: According to the OED, "scolding impudent sluts" were called billingsgates.
Example: You're a big poo pants!
Etymology: The word was coined because of the vulgar and abusive language that was associated with the females working in London's Billingsgate fish market.
Oxford English Dictionary: The word's first citation in this sense is from 1652:
"With down-right Billingsgate-Rhetoric."
