brachylogy

Definition: A condensing of expression that results from leaving out words that are implied by the context.
Example: I read, I spotted, I defined.
Note: This is an example of the type of brachylogy called asyndeton that results when conjunctions are omitted.
Etymology: The word derives from the Greek brakhys, short.
Oxford English Dictionary: Its first citation is from 1589:
"Brachiologa, or the Cutted comma."
