conjunctive adverb

Definition: An adverb — such as however, therefore, consequently, nevertheless, and hence — that is used to join independent clauses.
Usage:
1. When used to join independent clauses, these adverbs are set off with a semicolon and a comma.
I am going to Toronto; moreover, I intend to stay there.

2. However, just use a comma with short independent clauses.
I think, therefore I am.
