durative aspect
Definition - An aspect used to show actions that are in progress at a particular time in the past, present, or future.

1. It is also called either the progressive or continuous aspect.

Example -
He was eating when they left. (past durative)

Etymology -
The term ultimately derives from the Latin durare, harden.
