dynamic verb
Definition - A verb that describes an action (e.g. hit and play). As opposed to stative verbs which describe a state of being (e.g. owns, hates, and contains).
Note: Dynamic verbs can be used in continuous (i.e. progressive) forms, e.g. George is going to the store, stative verbs can't.

Example -
Bob hit Dave. Jane plays tennis.
