finite verb
Definition: A verb that is inflected for person and tense. Only verbs that are in certain moods are finite. These moods include:
(1) the indicative: The sky is blue
(2) the imperative: Make the sky blue!
(3) the subjunctive: If the sky were blue, ….
Note: Verb forms that are not finite include: participles, gerunds, and gerundives.
