Definition - Another name for pluralis maiestatis:
(1) The use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person, e.g. refering to the king as "they."
(2) The use of the Royal We. Note that the use of we to refer to oneself is also called nosism.

Example -
"We are not amused by the pluralis maiestatis." (Queen Victoria)
