A type of collective noun used for particular groupings of beings, such as animals - e.g. an exaltation of larks.
1. The source for many of the most famous of these is the Book of St. Albans (1486), purportedly written by Juliana Berners. Some nouns of assemblage derived from it are:
pride of lions, murder of crows, parliament of rooks, murmuration of starlings, shrewdness of apes, and gaggle of geese.
