null subject language

Definition: A language that allows implied subjects in independent clauses.
Note: Some example null subject languages are: Italian, Spanish, Hebrew, and Chinese. In English the subject must be explicit.
Example: In Italian:
(1) Explicit subject: Juanita non vuole mangiare. (Juanita does not want to eat.)
(2) Null subject: Non vuole mangiare. ([She] Does not want to eat."). Here, the subject she is implied.
