Definition - The science of name and term creation or formation.

Notes:
1. As opposed to:
(1) onomastics, which is the study of proper names and their origins, and
(2) onomasiology, which is the study of the principles of naming, especially with regard to regional, social, and occupational variations.

Etymology -
The word derives from the Greek onomatologos, word-gathering (from onoma, name).
