Definition - A modifier that is placed before the word it modifies.

Example -
That's a big dog.
(In the above big premodifies dog.)

Oxford English Dictionary -
Its first citation is from 1962:
"The premodification of nouns by nouns was a common feature of English
before Germans studied science or America was discovered."
