proximal demonstrative
Definition - Demonstrative pronouns that point to objects that are close to the speaker (e.g. this and these).

Notes:
1. In contrast to distal demonstratives, which are demonstrative pronouns that point to objects that are at some distance from the speaker.

Example -

(1) This boy (proximal)
(2) That girl (distal)

Etymology -
The word derives from the Latin proximus, nearest.
