retronym
Definition - A word or a phrase coined to rename a thing whose original name had become insufficiently precise due to technological change.

Example -
First there was the word turf, then artificial turf was invented along with the term artificial turf. But when you said turf, which turf-type were you talking about? Hence the term natural turf was coined.

Etymology -
The word was probably coined by combining the prefix retro, backwards, with the Greek onym, name.
