sentence element
Definition - A word or a group of words that creates one of the building units of a well-formed sentence. There are five types of sentence elements: the subject, the predicate, the object, the complement, and the adverbial.

Example -
The following contains an example of each type of sentence element.
They elected him mayor yesterday.
They (subject), elected (verb), him (object), mayor (predicative), and yesterday (adverbial)
